ASTR 210 is a course on modern astronomy and astrophysics for the student with some background in science. The course presents and discusses the physical laws responsible for a variety of astronomical and astrophysical phenomena. Laboratory exercises emphasize the scientific techniques of astronomy and other sciences.
ASTR 495 and ASTR 496 are based on contracted study arrangements between the student and an approved supervisor. Students improve their skills to choose and define problems, obtain information from libraries or experiments, organize facts and ideas, and report ideas and conclusions in written form.
